Notes for Robert Eugene BARNUM


From the Mail Tribune, Medford, Oregon, September 6, 2000: The funeral for Robert Eugene Barnum will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. The Rev. Liam Cary will officiate. Mr. Barnum, 80, of Medford, died Saturday (Sept. 2, 2000) at Providence Medford Medical Center. He was born Dec. 5, 1919, in Portland, a son of Dr. Elbert and Irene (Sirginson) Barnum. He moved to the Rogue Valley in 1933 from Mount Angel. On July 17, 1938, in Grants Pass, he married Dorothy June Smith, who died in January 2000. Mr. Barnum was an electronics technician with the Federal Aviation Administration. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Mr. Barnum was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
He enjoyed camping, reading, crossword puzzles and spending time with his family.
Survivors include three daughters, Barbara Nygren and Patt Spielbusch, both Medford, and Terry Barnum, Shady Cove; two sisters, Dorothy Heinert, Medford, and Jean Leonard, Pacifica, Calif.; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
