From the Bulletin Review, Denison, Iowa, March 6, 2014: Glen Oster Barnum was born January 5, 1931, the son of Eugene and Sadie Staley Barnum. He passed away Monday, February 24, 2014, at the Denison Care Center in Denison, Iowa, at the age of eighty-three.
Glen was born in Woodbine, Iowa. He received his education in a rural school near Woodbine. After completing his education he helped on the family farm and in the neighborhood of Woodine. He was employed for many years by Preben Jensen, a dirt moving contractor. He was united in marriage to Beatrice Fare. Throughout his life Glen lived in Woodbine, Logan and Arion.
He played the guitar and also enjoyed working on cars, watching westerns on televison, boxing, wrestling, and socializing with family and friends. He attended the Assembly of God Church with his family.
Glen was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; three sisters: Rosella May, Susan, and Margaret; two brothers: Harry Lee and John A.; one nephew: Robert; and one niece, Margaret. Survivors include: two sisters: Flora and Harriett; many other relatives and friends.
A memorial service was held at the Huebner Funeral Home in Denison, 10:30 A.M., Friday, February 28, 2014. Elder Francis Harper officiated the service and graveside rites held at Woodbine Cemetery in Woodbine, Iowa.
