A One-Name Study for the BARNUM/BARNHAM Surname
Alida Benedict was the oldest daughter of this family group. In 1887, she produced an oil painting titled "The Old Barnum Homestead, Bethel, Connecticut." A reproduction of that painting was in the possession (1999) of Robert Troy. The reproduction was given to him by his mother, Avis E. (Elliot) (Storzbach) Troy [daughter of Sadie (Barnum) (Elliot) Moffet], and has names and dates written on the back, as follows: George Lee Barnum, deceased 1875; Nora Bell Koons, deceased 8/19/27; Sarah Elizabeth Moffet, deceased 5/29/54; Duren W. Moffet, deceased 1/7/47; Addie Bell Barnum Elliott, deceased 1943; Bertrand Andrew Barnum, deceased unknown; Louella Maude Casavant, 1885; George K. Barnum, 1889; Royal Charles Barnum, 1893; Fred Clifford Barnum, 1895; Kenneth Henry Barnum, 1899; Leon Farmer.
