Obituary from www.fosterfuneralandcremation.com: August 3, 1916 - March 15, 2009. Biography: Ruby Graves, 92, of Webster City, died Sunday, March 15, 2009 at Southfield Wellness Community. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Faith United Methodist Church, with Rev. Linda Bibb officiating. Burial will be in the Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be at the Foster Funeral and Cremation Center from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday and at the church after 11:00 a.m. Thursday.
Ruby Althera Barnum, daughter of Willard and Mabel Deits Barnum, was born August 3, 1916 at Logan, Iowa. She graduated from Logan High School and attended Graceland College at Lamoni. On August 29, 1936, she married Dale Ovid Graves at Onawa, Iowa. The couple resided in Webster City. She had been employed at Crestview Senior Living, Morton Frozen Foods, Jim’s
Gold Room, Brown’s Café and Johnnie’s Café. She retired in 1973. Mr. Graves died August 27, 2001.
Ruby is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Larry and LaVonne Graves; Lonnie and Erma Graves, all of Webster City; Ronnie and Linda Graves of Dublin, TX; daughter and son-in-law, Connie and Paul Riley of Eagle Grove;16 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great-grandchildren; sister, Edna Ehlert of Woodbine; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, a great-great-granddaughter, Elizabeth Payne, brothers, Floyd and Roy Barnum; sisters, Viola Toby, Mary Peterson and Gladys Hodges.
Ruby was a member of the Faith United Methodist Church, various circles of her church,Webster City Moose Family Center and Royal Neighbors.
