From the Sandusky Register Star News, October 28, 1946: Port Clinton, Oct. 28—Funeral services for Mrs. Katie Barnum, 68, wife of Alva Barnum, of Catawba Island, who died (Oct 26) at Magruder Memorial Hospital here, were held from the residence Monday afternoon, the Rev. Russell Linton of Trinity Methodist Church, here, officiating. Mrs. Barnum was well known in her community through club and civic work. She was born at Napoleon, Ohio, and spent many of her years at Catawba. Surviving are the husband and a son, Ulmer Barnum.
