From the News Times, Cateret County, North Carolina, November 13, 2013: Bernita Scanland Barnum, 91, of Morehead City, died Sunday, Nov. 10, 2013, at home.
Her funeral is at 2 p.m. Friday at St. Peter’s United Methodist Church in Morehead City with the Rev. Karl Zorowski officiating. Burial will follow at Gethsemane Memorial Park.
She is survived by her nine children and their spouses, Roberta Barnum Vasgar and Tommy Vasgar of Newport, Howard Otto Barnum and Barbara Henderson of Greenville, Shirley Barnum Brooks and George Hollendursky of Annapolis, Md., Jeanne Barnum Josephson and Ron Josephson of Juneau, Alaska, Connie Barnum Gongaware of Phoenix, Ariz., Deanna Barnum McElmon and Albert McElmon and Robert Lewis Barnum and Christine Barnum, all of Newport, Mary Grace Barnum of Belchertown, Mass., and Lauralee Barnum Prentice and Charlie Prentice of Jacksonville; 14 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
