A One-Name Study for the BARNUM/BARNHAM Surname
From the Otsego Farmer, Otsego County, New York, April 29, 1910: Mrs. Cora Smith Barnum. The people of Middlefield Center were shocked and an unusual feeling of sadness prevailed when the news of the death of Mrs. D. A. Barnum which occurred at noon Saturday, April 23rd was received. She had been ill since Tuesday with pneumonia, but it was thought in a mild form and but a half hour before, her physician left her doing nicely. The end came without a moment's warning to her anxious family. The deceased was born near Middlefield Center October 30, 1859. On January 11, 1882 she was united in marriage to Daniel Adelbert [sic] Barnum, son of H. G. Barnum. She is survived by her husband and one son Lewis; a brother, Elmer Smith and a sister Mrs. Charles Morrison. Interment in the village cemetery.
