Notes for Orange Calvin BARNUM

From NRtoday, the website of the Roseburg (Oregon) News-Review, 20 January 2012: Orange "Cal" Barnum II passed away on Tuesday, January 17, 2012, at the age of 53. He is survived by his son, SPC Austin Taylor Barnum (23) of the US Army; beautiful daughters, Carli Renee Barnum (19) sophomore at the U of O and Amari Lou Barnum (5) of Logan, Utah; father, Orange Calvin Barnum I (75) and many loving family members and friends.
Cal served in the US Navy on the USS Okinawa. After a much loved and well accomplished career in the Iron Workers Union and Electrical Union, he worked on sites throughout the nation that ranged from Michigan to main attractions located on the Las Vegas Strip such as Treasure Island's Siren's show, New York-New York's roller coaster and many of the main pylon signs that fascinated the tourists from around the world. Cal then moved to the northwest and co-founded Big River Cycle in Roseburg, Oregon in 2011 with his beloved best friend and brother, Patrick Snyder.
Strong as an ox and tough as nails, Cal found that perfect balance between love, compassion and his old-school mindset. His optimistic attitude and hard-working mentality made him easy to love. He will be missed greatly by those left behind and remembered fondly for the legacy he has forged for his children.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, January 22, 2012, at 2 p.m. at the New Beginnings Church of God, 518 NE Nash St., Roseburg, Oregon. Any person who would like to pay their respects and celebrate the memory of a great man is welcome.
