From The Spectrum & Daily News, December 4, 2015: Our beloved father and grandfather, LaRue Barnum, passed away on December 1, 2015 in his 102 year of life at the home of his son in Washington, Utah. He was born March 3, 1914 in Mesquite, Nevada to Zera Eugene Barnum and Harriet Woodbury. He was married June 21, 1934 to Wanda Cooper of Overton, NV in the St. George LDS Temple. They lived in Logandale where they had a dairy farm and moved to Eagle, Idaho in 1952, Moses Lake, WA in 1953 and settled in Warden, WA in 1960 where he farmed until 1983. LaRue and his wife serviced full-time in the San Jose, CA mission in 1978-79. After retirement, they moved back to Logandale, NV. He was an avid gardener and loved to share with anyone who appreciated fresh produce. They raised 9 children and currently have 263 descendants.
LaRue was preceded in death by two infant brothers, his parents, his sister Helen Monson of Sacramento, CA, brother Verl Barnum of Las Vegas, NV, his wife, Wanda, his daughter Carolyn Winder of Royal, WA and son, David Barnum of San Pedro, CA. He is succeeded by his brother, John Leroy Barnum of Mesa, AZ; four sons: Larry Barnum of Washington, UT, Max Barnum of Payson, UT, Roger Barnum of Warden, WA, Donald Barnum of Vancouver, WA; three daughters Susan Dixon of Lake St Louis, MO, Anita Hill of Herriman, UT and Dorothy Eppich of Darby, MT.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 5, 2015 at 1:00 pm at the LDS Logandale Stake Center located at 2555 N. St. Joseph, Logandale, NV. A viewing will be held one hour prior to services. Interment will be in the Logandale Cemetery.
