Notes for Thomas BENEDICT


Thomas Benedict was fifth justice of peace of Danbury, appointed in May of 1738, and the first justice of the district. He held both offices until his death. He was a member of the Connecticut legislature for thirty-one sessions, between May of 1737 and October of 1766, inclusive. He was chosen Deacon, September 19, 1770. Thomas died on the day that the Declaration of Independance was signed.
