From an unnamed contemporary newspaper: Mrs. Gayle Barnum, 85, of Lake Wales, Florida died on Thursday, March 19, 2015, at her home. She was born on September 25, 1929 to Roy and Helen McMeeken in Port Huron, Michigan and moved to Lake Wales 42 years ago from St. Clair, Michigan. She was a retired registered nurse at Lake Wales Hospital with 30 years of service and was a graduate of Harper Hospital School of Nursing in Detroit. She volunteered for Bok Tower Gardens at the welcome desk for 27 years and was active at the Lake Wales Art Center. Gayle is survived by her children Michael G. Barnum and wife Maria of St. Clair, Donald R. Barnum of Sterling Heights, Michigan, Randy R. Barnum and Linda  of Modesto, California, Brook J. Barnum of Richmond, California, Betsy Edwards and husband Roger of Babson Park, and Nancy Knox and husband Ken of Plantation, fifteen grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Glenn and a sister Judith Nowak. Memorial services will be held at 2:30 P.M. on Friday, March 27, 2015
