From the Buffalo Evening News, Buffalo, NY, Friday, February 12, 1897: Helen Catherine Barnum Bryant, wife of Attorney William C. Bryant, died at her home 156 Morgan Street at an early hour this morning. Mrs. Bryant was born In Buffalo in 1845 and received her education in this city. She was married to W. C. Bryant in 1866. Two children were the fruit of the union, Mrs. A. C. Spann, who died last year, and W. L. Bryant a member of the law firm of Bryant & Bryant of this city. The deceased was a sister of ex-Alderman Alexander M. Barnum, formerly of Buffalo and George G. Barnum of Duluth. She was an active member of the Central Presbyterian Church and a member of the Nameless Club.
Mr. Bryant is confined to his bed with a broken limb. In December last he fell and broke his hip. A few days ago while out walking he slipped on the ice and fractured the injured hip again.
