Hector Munro of Foulis, was of the Munro barons of Foulis in Ross-shire, Scotland (noted soldiers), but no details have been found for his father or mother. An army lieutenant, he served at Waterloo, came to Orkney and married first Marjorie Geddes and then Jessie Rae. He had at least one daughter by each wife while still in Orkney. He bought a distillery in Stromness, Orkney, but failed. He and Jessie then emigrated to Canada. Note: He must have been about 11 years or more older than his wife, since the Battle of Waterloo in which he supposedly fought as a lieutenant took place in 1815. Assuming his age as 20 or older at the time of the battle, he would have had to have been born in 1795 or earlier.
