She died of congestive heart failure and renal failure at Saint Michael's Hospital, Stevens Point, Wisconsin 54481.
Obituaries - pcgazette.com. Mildred "Millie" Porter. Mildred "Millie" Porter, 92, 3301 Jordan Lane, died Saturday, Nov. 27, 1999, at Saint Michael's Hospital. Private family services were held. Burial will take place in Boscobel Cemetery in Boscobel. Boston Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements. Mrs. Porter was born March 22, 1907, in Barnum, a daughter of the late Panthea and Marion Barnum. She received a degree in home economics from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point. She taught home economics at Mid-State Technical
College and in the Stevens Point public school system. She was married to Antone "Tony" Portage on Aug. 29, 1936. They operated the grocery store, Porter's Market, at the corner of Michigan Avenue and Main Street. He died Jan. 13, 1989. Survivors include three daughters, Judith Engebretsen and Virginia Porter both of Stevens Point, and Kathryn Porter, Tucson, Ariz.; one sister, Wilma McCormick, Prairie du Chien; one brother, Edward Barnum, Elm Grove; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by a son, Robert.
She was buried in Boscobel Cemetery.
