From the Gazette & Farmers’ Journal, Baldwinsville, N.Y., January 14, 1954: In Fairfield Hospital, Fairfield, Illinois, Thursday, January 7, 1954, Mrs. Cora Barnum, 80 years, of Springerton, Illinois, a former Solvay resident. She was the widow of Wiley B. Barnum and is survived by four sons, Clifton W. of Chicago, Illinois, Cecil L. of Sherburne, Dale O. of Baldwinsville and Leonard E. Barnum of Syracuse; two brothers, Jefferson of St Louis, Mo., and James Lasater of Springerton; a sister, Mrs. John Oliver, also of Springerton. Funeral services were held Saturday at Springerton and at 1:30 o'clock Monday afternoon at the Tindall funeral home, Syracuse. Interment was made in Riverview Cemetery in this village.
