Ruth apparently traveled quite a bit while her parents were missionaries in Turkey. She appears in New York Passenger Lists as arriving there on 11 July 1924 from Cherbourg, France, with her parents and sisters; on 22 August 1932 from Le Havre, France with her mother and sisters; on 29 August 1934 from Genoa and Naples, Italy and on 21 August 1939 from Cherbourg, France.
