Noted as a Sportsman. 1910 Columbia Graduate Eulogized at Memorial Service in White Plains Supreme Court. Special to The New York Times. Greenwich, Conn., June 26.--Ray Foster Barnum of White Plains, N. Y., and Greenwich, a well known attorney and sportsman of Westchester County, who was a partner of Robert P. Smith and formerly clerk of the Surrogate's Court, White Plains, died at the Greenwich Hospital last night from lung and heart disease. He was 38 years old. He was taken ill last Wednesday at his Summer home at Sound Beach here. Mr. Barnum was the son of the late Frederick Stone Barnum, also a well known lawyer, and former President of the Village of White Plains and District Attorney of Putnam County. Graduated from Columbia College in 1910, Mr. Barnum was admitted to the bar In 1913. He was a member of the White Plains Chapter of the Kiwanis Club, the Sound Beach Golf Club, Riverside Yacht Club, Scarsdale Golf Club, Columbia University Club, White Plains University Club and White Plains City Club, and was a director of the White Plains Rural Cemetery Association. He is survived by his widow, the former Vida L. Standing of White Plains, and two children, Ray Foster Barnum Jr., 9 years old, and Alec Barnum, 5.

Millard, President of the Westchester Bar Association, eulogized Mr. Barnum at the proceedings held before Supreme Court Justice Arthur S. Tompkins. Resolutions of condolence will be sent to the widow and two children. Funeral services will be held at Grace Episcopal Church, this city, at 3:30 o'clock tomorrow afternoon. Burial will be In White Plains Rural Cemetery.
