From The New York Times, July 16, 1941: J. D. Barnum Jr. to Wed. Syracuse Publisher's Son Fiance of Muriel R. Carver. Special to the New York Times. Syracuse, July 15 -- Mr. and Mrs/ Kaufman Lowell Carver of San Marino, Calif., have announced the engagement of their daughter, Miss Muriel Reimers Carver, to Jerome DeWitt Barnum Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Barnum of this city.
Miss Carver, whose father is vice president of the Bank of America, attended Scripps College in California and was graduated from the University of Arizona.
Mr. Barnum Attended Cornell University, was graduated from the University of Arizona and is now attending Stanford University Law School. His father is publisher of the Post Standard of Syracuse.
