From The Post-Standard, Syracuse, NY, Friday, April 17, 1981: T. Crouse Barnum of 312 Hampshire Drive, DeWitt, a prominent Syracuse attorney, died Thursday (April 16) at a local hospital. He was the son of Jerome DeWitt Barnum, former publisher of The Syracuse Post-Standard. A life resident of Syracuse, he was a graduate of Philip Exeter Academy, Cornell University and the Cornell University Law School. He was an officer of the Navy during World War II. He was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Cathedral, the University Club of Syracuse, the Century Club and the Rotary Club of Syracuse.
Surviving are his wife, Virginia S., a daughter Diana Barnum of Scarsdale; three sons, Terry (Theron) of Watertown, Mass., Parker of New York City, and Benjamin Barnum of Princeton, N.J.; three stepchildren, Peter Siersma of Northampton, Mass., Phyllis Siersma of New Haven, Conn., and Susan Siersma of Newport, R.I.; a brother, Jerome D. Jr. of Pasadena, Calif.; a sister, Mrs. Lucia B. Wilson of Milwaukee, Wis.; a grandson, Ansel Singer Barnum of Watertown, Mass.; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at St. Paul's Cathedral, the Very Rev. William M. Hale, dean of the cathedral, officiating. Burial is in Oakwood Cemetery.
