From The Chronicle, Goshen, New York, July 8, 2010: Eleanor B. Freyberg of Goshen, died Tuesday, June 29, 2010, at Orange Regional Medical Center-Arden Hill Campus, Goshen. She was 92. Daughter of the late C. Leslie and Eleanor Adista Barnum, she was born March 13, 1918, in Pleasantville, N.Y. She was the widow of Richard H. Freyberg Jr. She studied in Geneva, Switzerland, and completed her degree at Columbia University Teachers College in New York City. During World War II, she volunteered as a nurse. She was a founder of the Noah's Ark Nursery School at the Presbyterian Church in Pleasantville, and taught there for many years. Afterwards, she became a librarian for the Mount Pleasant Public Library in Pleasantville, where she retired in 1982. Survivors include three sons, Richard H. Freyberg III of Cordillera, Colo., Peter L. Freyberg and wife, Sunny, of Guangzhou, China, and Dr. Christopher Freyberg and wife, Francisca, of Orlando, Fla.; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. The funeral was private and at the convenience of the family.
