Published in The Greenville (SC) News: 06-17-2001: Vincent Dudley Barnum, 90, of Brighton Gardens, died Monday, June 11, 2001.
Born in Whiteside County, Ill., he was a son of the late Wilbur and Delilia Dudley Barnum and was a graduate of the University of Illinois. He was a civil engineering consultant with numerous firms before his retirement, and was manager of public streets in Pitman, N.J. Mr. Barnum attended Saint Luke's Catholic Church in Easley and Saint Mary Magdalene Catholic Church in Simpsonville.
He was predeceased by two wives, Helen Strayer Barnum and Louise Lovett Barnum.
Surviving are a brother, Harold L. Barnum of Greenville; two nephews, Steve and Michael Barnum; and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Macy Barnum Thomson.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church, 161 Pitman Ave., Pitman, N.J. 08071, where he was a long-time member, or to a church of your choice.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Noon Monday, June 18, at Saint Mary Magdalene Catholic Church. The Rite of Committal will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, June 24, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Cemetery, Fulton, Ill. — Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown, is in charge of arrangements.
