From the New York Times, August 7, 1897, p. 4: Bridgeport---August 6----Jessica Seeley Marshall, aged twenty-seven years, wife of Wilson Marshall, a well-known New York club man, and a sister of Clinton Barnum Seeley died at 7 o’clock this morning at the Marshall summer residence in this city. Yesterday Mrs. Marshall gave birth to a son. She was a daughter of Nathan Seeley and a granddaughter of the late P. T. Barnum. She divided her time between New York, Bridgeport and Larchmont, the winter residence of the family being 850 Madison Avenue, New York.

From the New York Daily Tribune, Saturday, August 7, 1897: Bridgeport, Conn., Aug. 6.—Jessica Seeley Marshall, wife of Wilson Marshall of New York, and a sister of Clinton Barnum Seeley died at 7 o'clock this morning at the Marshall summer residence at Ingleside, this city. Yesterday Mrs. Marshall gave birth to a son, and death was caused by shock and congestion of the lungs. She was twenty-seven years of age, the daughter of Nathan Seeley and a granddaughter of the late P. T. Barnum. She divided her time between New York, Bridgeport and Larchmont. The winter residence of the Marshalls is at No. 839 Madison Ave., New York.

From the New York Herald, Wednesday, August 11, 1897: Marshall—Suddenly on Friday, August 6, 1897, at Bridgeport, Connecticut, Jessica Seeley, wife of Wilson Marshall, aged 27 years. Funeral from her late residence, Ingleside, Bridgeport, on Thursday, August 12, at a quarter of one o'clock. Carriages will meet train leaving New York at 11 a.m. Interment Woodlawn Cemetery (Bronx).
