From the Saint Petersburg Times, Florida, August 25, 1931: Dunedin, August 24--- Watts Barnum, 40, of this city, who suffered a fractured skull and other injuries last Wednesday when his automobile collided with a machine driven by Garner Warner of St. Petersburg, died tonight at 8 PM in the Plant Hospital at Clearwater. Pratt Williams, a companion, injured at the same time, has recovered.
Barnum was a well known resident of this city and was employed as shop foreman in the Florida Citrus Machinery Co. Funeral services will be held here Wednesday with the Masonic Lodge in charge. Mr. Barnum leaves his widow, Stella Barnum; four children, Eva June, Lewis, Walter (sic Watts Jr.) and Frederick; his mother, Mrs. Lill Barnum.
