Notes for Samuel CORSER


During the Revolutionary War Samuel Corser was a Corporal in Captain Joshua Abbott's Company, Colonel John Stark's 1st New Hampshire Regiment. His two brothers, William and Asa, served as privates. All three fought at the Battle of Bunker's Hill. He is to be found in DAR Membership Application #A026213.

In the 1790 US Census for Boscawen, Hillsborough, New Hampshire the family of Samuel Corser was enumerated as follows:
Sam. Corser; 2 free white males of 16 years and upwards; 2 free white males under 16 years; 3 free white females. Other Corser heads of family who appeared in the 1790 census for Boscawen were: David; James; Jonathan; Jonathan, Jr.; Nathan, Simeon, Stephen, Thomas and William.

In the 1800 US Census for Boscawen, Hillsborough, New Hampshire the family of Samuel Corser was enumerated as follows:
Samuel Corser; 2 free white males under 10; 1 free white male 10 thru 16; 1 free white male 16 thru 25; 1 free white male 26 thru 44; 1 free white female under 10; 2 free white females 10 thru 15; 1 free white female 16 thru 25; 1 free white female 26 thru 44. Other Corser heads of family appearing in the 1800 census for Boscawen were: Ara; David, James, Nathan, Stephen, Thomas and William.

In the 1810 US Census for Boscawen, Hillsborough, New Hampshire the family of Samuel was enumerated as follows:
Samuel Corser; 2 free white males 16 thru 25; 1 free white male 45 and over; 1 free white female under 10; 1 free white female 26 thru 44; 1 free white female 45 and over. Other Corser heads of family appearing in the 1810 census for Boscawen were: David, Jr.; James; James, Jr.; John; John, Jr.; Moses; Stephen and Thomas.

In the 1820 US Census for Boscawen, Merrimack, New Hampshire the family of Samuel was enumerated as follows:
Samuel Corser; 1 free white male of 45 and upwards; 1 free white female of 26 and under 45; 1 free white female of 45 and upwards. Other Corser heads of family appearing in the 1820 census for Boscawen were: Abigail; Amos; David; David, Jr.; John; John, Jr.; Joseph; Miriam; Richard and Thomas.
