From The Peru Tribune, Peru, Miami, Indiana, June 1, 2011: Eleanor Jean Krause, 87, Peru, died at 11:30 a.m. Monday, May 30, 2011 at her residence.
She was born in Indianapolis on July 8, 1923 to Hobart and Eleanor (Hylton) Barnum. She married Leland H. "Lee" Krause on May 6, 1944 and he preceded her in death April 10, 2002.
Eleanor lived in Miami County for 44 years, and worked as a bank teller. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Peru, the Moose Auxiliary, Elks Auxiliary and the BPW, Business Professional Women's Club. She was co-owner of Lee's Bootery.
She is survived by a son, Dan (wife Charie) Krause, Baltimore, Md., and a daughter Denise (husband Klaudius) Mirkowski of West Lafayette, four grandchildren, Erin Krause, New York City, N.Y., Lauren Krause, Los Angeles, Calif., Zak Mirkowski, in college at Indiana University-Bloomington and Claudia Mirkowski, at home, W. Lafayette.
She was preceded in death by her husband, both parents, two sons David and Dennis Krause, half-brother William Zier and a sister, Nancy Lou Hauser.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, June 3, 2011 in Saint John's Lutheran Church, with Pastor Kenneth Greenwalk officiating. Burial will be at the Lutheran Cemetery, Peru. Friends may call Thursday from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the Flowers-Leedy Funeral Home, 105 W. Third St.
