Dorothy Vogler, 100, died Sunday, June 22, 2008, at Chelan. She was born July 13, 1907, in Vancouver, B.C., Canada and later moved to Brewster, where she attended and graduated from Brewster High School in 1926. She then attended Cheney Normal School and received a teaching certificate in 1928. In the 1930's, she was married to Robert Vogler, Sr. They moved to Chelan in the 1940's, and she assisted her husband in operating Vogler Electric for more than 30 years, into the 1960's. Her husband, Robert Sr., preceded her in death in December 1994. She was also preceded in death by a son, Ronald Vogler, who died while serving in the military in 1958. Dorothy was a member of Silver Star Chapter 93, O.E.S. and a member of the United Methodist Church. Survivors include a son, Robert Vogler, Jr. and his wife, Berni of San Diego, CA; a grandson, James (Hideko) Robinett of Los Angeles, CA; a nephew, Loren (Lois) Cummings of Yakima; and cousins, Sheron and Mike Rushing of Lacy, WA. A Commemoration Service will take place Friday, June 27, 2008, at 1:00 p.m. at Chelan United Methodist Church, with Rev. Dan Breznau officiating. Interment will follow at Fraternal Cemetery, Chelan. Services have been entrusted to Precht Rose Chapel, Chelan.
