The funeral of Mrs. Cora Barnum Mahannah wife of the late Ernest Everett Mahannah was held from her home at 261 Sommer Street, North Tonawanda, on Friday afternoon, September 13. Burial was in Mountain View Cemetery, Pekin. Services were conducted by the Rev. G. A. Woolsey, pastor of the First Baptist Church of North Tonawanda. Mr. Mahannah died in 1941. He was at one time Superintendent of Public Works of the City of North Tonawanda. Born in Town of Wheatfield on January 29, 1865, she was one of ten children of Heman Allen and Caroline Preisch Barnum. She was born on the farm, on Lockport Road, where her father was born and lived for 81 years. She had been a resident of North Tonawanda for 49 years. She left three children, Everett Allen, of Dexter, N. Y., Morris Barnum of Hastings-on-Hudson, and Mrs. Kenneth R. Hay, of Fort Worth Texas and six grandchildren. Also surviving are two brothers, the Rev. Elmer G. Barnum, of Fredericksburg, Va., and Ralph C. Barnum of Lockport; also two sisters, Mrs. Samuel I. Jacobus, of Millbrook, N. Y., and Mrs. Roderick P. Parrish, of North Tonawanda.
