Tony Barnum, son of Clifford Eugene and Mary Marie (Novak) Barnum was born May 25, 1937 in Douglas County and departed this life February 19, 2008 at the age of 70 years, 8 months, and 24 days.
As a young man Tony served in the U.S. Navy and then worked for several years for Dayco. Most recently he enjoyed a good game of pool or could be found delivering meals to the sick or elderly through the "Meals on Wheels" program. He will be greatly missed.
Tony is preceded in death by his parents; wife Willa Mae Barnum; and one brother, Lavern "Barney" Barnum.
Survivors include one son, Mark Anthony Barnum of Knob Knoster, MO, four step children, Carol June Gott & husband Brad of Mansfield, MO, Jimmy Johnson & wife Lisa of Ava, MO, Joe Johnson of Hartville, MO, and Karen Turner & husband Heath of Maysville, MO; two brothers, Dale Barnum & wife Yvonne of Beloxy, MS, Earnie Barnum of Ava, MO; five sisters, Geraldine Walker of Ava, Pat Szczechowski of Marshfield, MO, Maxine Turner of Ava, MO, Barbara Short of Ava, MO, and Mary Lee Myers of Ava, MO; one grand-daughter, Abigal Mae Barnum of Ava, MO; and several nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M. Saturday, February 23, 2008 at Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, MO with burial in Ellison Cemetery. Visitation is from 6 to 7 P.M. Friday at the funeral home. Funeral is under the direction of Bram Funeral Home, Maysville.
