Ike was a son of Alvin Henry Kissick and Lula May (Simmons) Lynch. He served in the Marines during World War II and was awarded the Bronze Star Medal "For heroic achievement as an ambulance driver in a medical company during operations against the enemy on Saipan, Marianas Islands, on 20 June, 1944. During the course of a furious engagement with the enemy in the vicinity of Hill 500, with cool courage and utter disregard for his own safety, Private Kissick, in evacuating the wounded, made repeated trips over roads under enemy artillery, rifle and machine gun fire. His courageous devotion to duty assisted in saving the lives of many of the wounded who might otherwise have died. His conduct throughout was in keeping with the highest traditions of the United States Naval Services."
Ike was first married to Cecilia _____ in Casper, Natrona Co., Wyoming. They were divorced without children. Ike was then married on 2 February 1950 in Casper to Dora Jean Black. She was born in Butte, Silver Bow County, Montana, and died during childbirth at Igloo, Fall River County, South Dakota. She is buried at Edgemont, South Dakota. Ike and Dora Jean had one child, Casey Michael Kissick, who was adopted by Raymond G. and Lillion Hallien (Lassiter) Heller. His name was changed to James Charles Heller.
After Dora's death, Ike married Marjorie Maxine Carlow, a daughter of Max Christ Carlow and Anna Irene Erdman. During their marriage Ike was involved in a serious car accident near Wheatland, Wyoming, and lost his leg beneath the knee, a troublesome condition with which he suffered for most of the rest of his life. Ike and Marjorie were divorced after having three children, Douglas Morgan Kissick, Carol Ann Kissick, and Eileen Mae Kissick.
Ike's fourth wife was Chusri Boonyawan, a native of Thailand and daughter of Boon Lim and Laiead Boonyawan. They were divorced after a year of marriage.
Ike lost contact with his family and was only relocated by the notice of his death in 1997.
