Notes for Frederick William THOLL


From the Billings Gazette, 2 April 2004: Frederic W. 'Fred' Tholl. Casper - Services for Casper resident Frederic W. "Fred" Tholl, 73, will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday, March 18, in the chapel of Oregon Trail State Veterans Cemetery in Evansville by Pastor Milo Miller of Highland Park Community Church. Inurnment of cremains will follow, with military honors accorded by the Natrona County United Veterans Council. He died March 14, 2004, at his home. Born Dec. 18, 1930, in Casper, he was the son of Herman Thomas and Elsie Mae (Barnum) Tholl; and was raised in Barnum until age 5, when the family moved to Casper. He attended Lincoln Elementary School. He had numerous jobs here until entering the U.S. Air Force in 1951, serving as a medic during the Korean War and in Alaska, Greece and Crete. After 14 years of service, he was honorably discharged at the rank of staff sergeant. He returned to Casper in 1965 and worked for various companies as an electrical salesman. A longtime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and Eagles, he was an avid bowler and loved playing billiards. His nieces, nephews and extended family were his priorities. Survivors include four siblings, Treva Hensley, Mary Mills and Herb Tholl, all of Casper, and Claudia Miller of Stephenville, Texas; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and six brothers, Robert, Donald, Allen, Merlin, Gene and Eldon. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Meals on Wheels, 1760 E. 12th St., Casper, WY 82601.
