From the Norwich (NY) Daily Star, Wednesday, December 18, 2002: Barbara B. Wickham, 85, long time Norwich, Chenango County, New York resident, passed away December 16, 2002, in the Oneonta Nursing Home. She was born in Springfield, Vermont. At an early age, she moved with her family to Middletown, New York where she attended and graduated from the Middletown schools. In 1937, Barb and her husband William moved to Norwich where they purchased a farm which they operated for over 40 years. In December 1961, she began her long career with the Norwich School System. Barb was a devoted member of the Emmanuel Episcopal Church of Norwich for over 60 years, serving as Clerk of the Vestry for 25 years and was then a member of the Church Vestry. Born September 18, 1917, in Springfield, Vermont, Barbara was the daughter of Weston Grant and Helen (Keil) Barnum. On Jan. 16, 1938, in Middletown, Orange County, NY she married William H. Wickham II who passed away Aug. 8, 1978. Barb is survived by her children, the Rev. William Hunt Wickham III and his wife, Joyce, of Richmond, Va., Weston Grant Wickham of Lapeer, Mich., and Dan Keil Wickham and his wife, Ursula, of Otego; by her grandchildren, Barbara Owens and husband, Thomas, of Clinton, Brian Wickham and wife, Daina, of Laurel, Md., William Wickham IV of Kiev, Ukraine, Brook Sargent and husband, Paul, of San Diego, Calif., Jessica Hebert of Richmond, Va., Keith Wickham of Dayton, Ohio, and Scott Wickham and wife, Lisa, of Saugerties; and by her nine great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Benjamin, Sarah and Blythe Owens, Christopher Wickham, Katelyn, Kelsey, Keilly, and Scott Seamus Wickham. Barb is also survived by her sister, Muriel Roberts of Morristown, N.J.; and her cousin, Pat White of Norwich; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Interment will be in the Mt. Hope Cemetery of Norwich, New York.
