Adelia's obituary shows her parents as Richard and Jennette and her age as 72, thus born abt 1835, the 1850 census enumerated her as aged 20, thus born abt 1830.
From the Monroe County Mail, Thursday, January 10, 1907: January 3rd occurred the death of Mrs. Adelia Martin, aged seventy-two years. She was the widow of Moses Stone and Thomas Martin. Her parents were Richard and Jennette Barnum and were born at Bloomfield where she lived until her first marriage. She has been a resident of this place for about fifty-five years. The late PT Barnum was an uncle of the deceased [sic]. Near surviving relatives are Morgan Stone; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren all of this place; also one sister Mrs. Cynthia Burdoff of Hemlock Lake.
Note: Adelia and P.T. Barnum were actually fourth cousins. Their nearest common ancestor was Thomas Barnum (1625-1695), the immigrant ancestor of the Barnum family in America.
