A One-Name Study for the BARNUM/BARNHAM Surname
From the Adirondack Express, September 23, 2008: Lois Mildred Barnum Luther, 88, of Watertown, NY died September 5 at her home. Born April 26, 1920, in Utica, daughter of Arthur Marsden and Gertrude Mae McMahon Barnum, she graduated from Utica Free Academy and Canton Tech School. She married Harold Howe Luther of Utica on Sept. 27, 1941, at Lady of Lourdes Church in Utica. The couple resided in Utica until 1962, when they moved to Watertown. In 1962, Mr. Luther opened the Watertown Supply store as a manager and worked there for over 40 years. Mrs. Luther worked for Watertown Supply as an office manager for several years. Among her survivors are her husband, Harold H. Luther, Watertown; two sons and their wives, David A. and Ann Luther, Groton, Mass., and Thomas and Mary Ann Luther, Albany; a daughter and her husband, Susan J. and William Kiesel, Jr., Sauquoit; three brothers and their wives, Donald Barnum, Morgantown, W. Va., Alan and Ann Barnum, Old Forge, Ted and Janice Barnum, Rome, N.Y.; nine grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and friends.
