His headstone application states that he served in the 3rd Construction Bricklaying Company, Canadian Air Service, during WWI.

This was a delayed birth registration, made on 30 Jan 1942. The deponent states as follows: I, Alice Maud Gano of the Village of Marmora in the County of Hastings in the Province of Ontario do solemnly declare that: (1). I am the aunt and foster mother of the aforesaid; (2). That I have personal knowledge of the matters herein and above set forth, and the information furnished is true in substance and in fact; (3). That the parents of the said person are dead. That I am the aunt of the said person and was on intimate terms with his family at the time of his birth; that, although I was not present at his birth, I saw the child when he was but a few days old and was informed at the time and fully believe that he was born at the place and on the date stated. //Mrs. Alice M.
