A One-Name Study for the BARNUM/BARNHAM Surname
From the News Journal, Wilmington, Delaware, Tuesday, December 28, 1999: Catharine Markham Barnum, formerly of Sebring, Florida, died Saturday December 18, 1999 in Foulk Manor South. Age 95, born March 21, 1904 in Lyons Falls, NY, she was the daughter of Anna Louie Markham and Jay Markham. Mrs. Barnum was a graduate of Russell Sage College in Troy, NY and taught English in New York State High Schools until marriage. She then became a homemaker, an elder and member of the session in the First Presbyterian Church of Montgomery, NY for a number of years. Her husband, Robert O. Barnum, died on January 25, 1992 in Sebring, Florida. She is survived by a daughter, Marilyn B. Wagner of Bethlehem, PA, son Robert Jay Barnum of Wilmington and 4 grandchildren. Burial will be in Wildwood Cemetery in Lyons Falls, NY.
