Helen was born September 24, 1919, in Utica, New York, a daughter of Leonard K. and Mary E. Gauthier Gifford. She graduated from Whitesboro Schools and on July 23, 1941, married Kenneth R. Barnum in St. Paul's Church, Whitesboro. He passed away on March 11, 2000, after a loving marriage of 59 years. Mrs. Barnum was a devoted member of St. Paul's Church in Whitesboro where she served in many capacities over the years, including President of the Women's Club, and was a Eucharistic Minister. Helen leaves behind a son and daughter-in-law, Richard G. and Wendy Barnum, Whitesboro; two granddaughters, Mandy and Brittany Barnum, Whitesboro; two sisters, Mrs. Quentin (Doris) Barry, Rome, and Mrs. Mark (Betty Lou) Connors, Whitesboro; a brother-in-law, J.W. Cullen, PA; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Mr. & Mrs. Bert Kime, VA; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Mr. & Mrs. Douglas Barnum, Florida; a sister-in-law, Mrs. Evelyn Gifford, Kayuta Lake; many nieces and nephewsâ€¦ Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
