A One-Name Study for the BARNUM/BARNHAM Surname
Stella May Barnum Powell was born December 8, 1891 in Mt. Cory, Ohio according to Ohio Births. Her obituary says she was born in 1892. She married Winfield Scott Powell, who was often referred to as Scott Powell.
From the Findlay Republican Courier, Findlay, Ohio, March 21, 1963: Mrs. Stella May Powell, 71, 1321 S. Blanchard St. died of heart attack at 7:30 a.m. yesterday in her home. She had been ill for three years.
Born December 8, 1892 (sic, s/b 1891), in Mount Cory, she was the daughter of Thomas and Melissa (Flick) Barnum. On Feb. 24, 1912, she was married to (Winfield) Scott Powell and he survives.
Also surviving is a son, Earl L., at home: three brothers: Loren Barnum, Floyd Barnum. Carl Barnum all of Lima: and a grandson. A brother Ellsworth Barnum is deceased.
Services will be held Saturday in the Coldren Funeral Home. Dr. O. E. Johnson will officiate with burial in Maple Grove Cemetery.
