From the Constitution-Tribune, Chillicothe, Missouri, July 2, 1970: Clyde Wesley Barnum, a resident of Chillicothe since April, died unexpectedly at 10:50 Friday (June 26) morning at his home. Mr. Barnum, a son of Elja Barnum and Annie (Valentine) Barnum, was born January 12, 1900 in Grundy County, Iowa. He attended school in Worth County, Iowa and was a member of the Methodist Church.
He was a retired farmer having farmed in Minnesota and Iowa. He resided in Austin, Minnesota until 1965, when he went to Norwood, Iowa and resided in that community until coming to Chillicothe. Mr. Barnum is survived by two brothers, Theodore Barnum, Florence, Oregon and Charles Barnum, Brownsdale, Minnesota; two sisters, Mrs. Virgil Rapp, Northwood, Iowa and Mrs. Almer Halvorson, Lawson, several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Vera and Ruth.
Clyde W. Barnum is buried in Greenwood Cemetery, Brownsdale, Minnesota. His brother Charles Elja Barnum is buried there as well. There is a picture of his gravestone on findagrave.com.
