A One-Name Study for the BARNUM/BARNHAM Surname
From the Putnam County Courier, December 10, 1986: Mrs. Josephine P. Kent, a longtime teacher in the Patterson area, died December 4 at the Sunset Nursing Home, Boonville, N.Y., at the age of 101. Mrs. Kent was born in Patterson on, May 20, 1885, daughter of Lewis G. and Josephine Barnum Pugsley. She attended Oneonta, N.Y., Normal School. A resident of South St., Patterson, most of her life, she was the widow of Towner Kent. Mrs. Kent was a member of the Pawling Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star, and Patterson Presbyterian Church. She is survived by two nieces, Barbara P. Ward of Remsen, N.Y., and Eloise Pugsley of Patterson, and several grandnieces and grandnephews.
The funeral was conducted in the Dwyer Funeral Home, South St., Patterson, with the Rev. John Davies officiating. Burial was in Four Corners Cemetery, Patterson.
