Stanley was a Methodist minister; Dry candidate for delegate to Michigan convention to ratify 21st amendment from Eaton County, 1933; Commonwealth candidate for University of Michigan board of regents, 1935; Commonwealth candidate for Michigan state auditor general, 1936; president, Iowa Wesleyan College, 1938-49. Methodist. Member, American Legion; Delta Sigma Phi; Delta Sigma Rho.
