Notes for Thomas PARKER

On December 30, 2011, Jerry Mattison wrote: I have been trying to find this Thomas Parker for over 30 years now and I believe he was the son of Samuel Parker and brother of Nicholas and Samuel Parker from Rhode Island, Vermont and finally Cayuga and Allegany Counties in New York. I cannot begin to believe that he was the son of a Jacob Parker as so many have posted.
Most presentations of this Thomas Parker indicate that his parents were Jacob and Sarah (Marsh) Parker but I don't think that is correct for the following reasons:
a. Mary (House) Parker married Silas Dana after Thomas's death in 1821. In the 1850 Census of Grove, Allegany, New York Mary Dana was living in household 297. In household 294 was Lyman Parker b. 17 Jan 1798, Vermont, son of Nicholas Parker (brother of Thomas Parker), son of Samuel and Margaret Parker, grandson of Thomas and Jane (Bennett) Parker. In household 308 was Heman Parker b. 1 Sep 1800, son of Thomas and Mary (House) Parker. In household 310 is Asa Parker b. 13 Feb 1801, Vermont, son of Nicholas Parker (brother of Thomas Parker), son of Samuel and Margaret Parker, grandson of Thomas and Jane (Bennett) Parker. In household 311 was Riley Parker born 1797, Vermont, son of Ezekiel Parker (brother of Samuel Parker), son of Thomas and Jane (Bennett) Parker. In household 375 was Thomas Parker b. 4 Dec 1819, Vermont, son of Thomas and Mary (House) Parker. As you can see it appears that the grandsons of Thomas and Jane (Bennett) Parker, were living together in Grove, Allegany, New York in 1850.
b. From Samuel House's will, probated in Bennington, Vermont, we know that three of his four daughter's married Parkers. Sarah married Nicholas Parker; Hannah married Samuel Parker, both sons of Samuel and Margaret (unknown_) Parker and grandsons of Thomas and Jane (Bennett) Parker.
When taking the data from the 1850 Census of Grove, New York into consideration it makes sense to me that the Thomas Parker who married Mary House, daughter of Samuel House, on 3 Jun 1800 Shaftsbury, Vermont, was also a son of Samuel and Margaret (unknown__) House.
