From the Barrington Courier Review, Illinois, January 9, 1997: Former Barrington resident Bonita "Bonnie" (Barnum) Lockwood, 70, died December 31, 1996 at her home in Crystal Lake. A memorial service will take place at a later date. Born September 3, 1926, in Farmer City, Illinois, Mrs. Lockwood was a 1944 graduate of Barrington High School. She attended Beloit College in Beloit, Wisconsin, and earned a degree in nursing from Northwestern University. She was married June 18, 1949, to Calvin Lockwood of Crystal Lake. She worked for many years at the Elgin Mental Health Center. Surviving family members include two daughters, Vickie Lockwood of Fairfax, Va., and Julie (Paul) Engelman of Belvidere, Ill.; two sons, Glen of Largo, Fla., and Michael of Gresham, Ore.; six grandchildren; and a brother, Floyd, of Mancos, Colorado. She was preceded in death by her parents, Dr. Lyle and Mrs. Charlotte Barnum; and her husband, Calvin.
