From the Springfield Union News, June 11, 1987: Minnie Ethel Barnum Fowler, 86, of Miami, Florida, who with her husband had operated the Blue Spruce cabins in Lanesboro, died yesterday in Miami General Hospital. They operated the cabins for 35 years and retired in 1980. Born in Alford, she attended Pittsfield schools. Her first husband, Davis Starkweather died in 1938, and her second husband, Linwood Fowler in 1982. She leaves a daughter, Jean Ketchum with whom she lived; a stepson, Linwood Fowler of Houston, Texas; two sisters, Leona Barnum of New York City and Florence Horn of Pittsfield and 2 grandchildren. Burial is in Pittsfield Cemetery.
