From the Mason City Globe-Gazette, Mason City, Iowa, April 8, 1942: Funeral services for Mrs. William Law, 79, who died at a local hospital about 3:30 o'clock Tuesday afternoon, following a lingering illness, will be held at the farm home about 11 miles northwest of Mason City in Lincoln township at 2 o'clock Thursday afternoon. The Rev. James Miller of Bristol will be in charge of services. Mrs. Law was born Lydia Barnum, March 7, 1863, at Bath, Indiana. She was married to William Law at Bath, September 16, 1896. They moved from there to the farm in Lincoln Township, where she had resided for the past 45 years. Surviving are her husband, a daughter, Mrs. Charles (Lucille) Caponi, 115 Sixth street southwest, and two sisters, Mrs. E. T. Cobb, Clear Lake, and Mrs. Julia Newhouse, Connersville, Ind. She was preceded in death by six sisters and three brothers. She was a member of the United Brethren church. The body will lie in state at the home until the time of services. Burial will be at the Clear Lake Cemetery.
