Notes for Marcus Charles BARNUM

From the Saint Petersburg Times, Florida, May 19, 1952: Marcus C. Barnum, 42, drowned yesterday afternoon while fishing in Took Lake (sic, s/b Tooke Lake), near Weeki Wachee Spring. Barnum was supervisor of the machine shop at Skinner Machinery Company here. A graduate of Clearwater High School, he lived in Dunedin about 30 years.
With him on the fishing trip were Mr. & Mrs. O. M. Smith and Mrs. Emil Spath all of Dunedin.
They related Barnum left them to either wade or to fish by cast net about 4 o’clock. When they were ready to go home and he failed to answer their calls, the trio searched for him. At 6 o’clock they found his body. He is survived by a son, Donald; a daughter, Cornelia; his mother; a sister, Ruth; and two brothers, Royal H. and Merle.
