From The Charlotte Observer, North Carolina, January 14, 1995: Fort Mill - Mr. Floyd E. Barnum, 87, of 217 Pinecrest Motor Home Park died January 11, 1995, in Rock Hill. Funeral is 1 p.m. today at Koops Funeral Chapel in Lake Odessa, Mich., with the Revs. James Hynes and Kenneth Voight officiating. Burial will be in Stoney Point Cemetery in Woodland, Mich. Mr. Barnum, born in Woodland, was the son of the late Royal and Diana Payne Barnum. He was a cabinet maker and carpenter in Michigan and retired from the Hastings City Bank as a custodian. He had served in the Merchant Marines. He also was a member of the original school board of Lakewood Public Schools in Odessa. He had attended Nashville United Methodist Church in Nashville, Mich., and Fort Mill Presbyterian Church. He was a life member of the Masonic Lodge in Hastings and a member of the Eastern Star.
Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Clarabelle Martz Barnum; sons, Steven Barnum of Woodland, Rodger Barnum of Clarksville, Mich.; daughter, Ms. Lois Munn of Byron Center, Mich.; sister, Ms. Gladys Wertman of Charlevoix, Mich.; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; one great-grandchild.
