A One-Name Study for the BARNUM/BARNHAM Surname
From the Hawarden Independent, Iowa, September 6, 1972: Mrs. Frank Hout, age 84, passed away at the Hawarden Hospital on Sept. 4, 1972. Funeral services will be at 10:30 A.M., Thursday, Sept. 7, 1972, at the Dow Funeral Home. Rev. Herbert Gould will officiate with burial in the Grace Hill Cemetery. She was born Ethel Barnum on June 4, 1888 at Fennimore, Wisconsin. She was united in marriage to Frank Hout Sept. 20, 1905. He preceded her in death on May 31, 1956.
She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Robert (Cora) Collins of Hawarden, Mrs. Ella Boyer of Canton, S.D., Mrs. Taisto (Evelyn) Maki of Seattle, Wash., three sons, Harold of Hawarden, Clyde of Pitkin, La., and Frank of Riverside, Calif., 36 grandchildren and 48 great grandchildren.
