Funeral services for Mrs. Grace Bedard, 68, former Hawarden resident who died September 11, 1965 at Odessa, Missouri, were held here on Monday of last week at the First Methodist church, Dr. G. S. Bruland officiating with burial in Grace Hill cemetery. Mrs. Bedard, the former Grace Barnum, was born in Wisconsin in 1897 and came here with her parents as a small girl. They resided here until moving to Beresford where she married Fred Bedard. After his death in Beresford she continued in the grocery business, later moving to Sioux Falls where she worked in the Pedigrew Museum and clerked in a store after which she spent a short time in the home of her daughter Mrs. Stanley Ludwig here prior to making her home at Odessa. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a daughter Jeanette, who died at about age 21, and a brother William. Survivors include two sons Alfred Bedard of Odessa and Eldon Bedard of Independence, Missouri; one daughter, Mrs. Stanley Ludwig of Hawarden; three sisters Mrs. Frank Hout of Hawarden, Mrs. Helen (sic Ella) Quarles of Deer Lodge, Montana and Mrs. H. M. Everett of Kirkland, Washington; a brother Eldon of Sioux Falls, 11 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.
