A One-Name Study for the BARNUM/BARNHAM Surname
In the 1940 US Census for Black Oak, Craighead, Arkansas, Millie, a daughter of Louis H. and Ella R. Barnum, was enumerated as Millie L. Donahue, divorced and living with her parents. Her daughter, Glenna L. Donahue, 3 years old, was also enumerated as a member of the family. Ollie, another daughter of Louis and Ella, was listed as Ollie V. Barnum, a widow but using her maiden surname. Ruben G. Barnum, also 3 years old, was the final member of the family group and was shown as a grandson of Louis and Ella. Since Louis and Ella had no sons, it appears logical to assume that Ruben was the son of Ollie.
