From the Troy Times Record, Troy, N.Y. January 3, 1961: Mrs. Jennie C. Barnum died this morning at the residence of her sister Miss Isabella C. Ross, 124 Oakwood Ave., after a long illness. She was the widow of Luther C. Barnum. Mrs. Barnum was born in Troy, daughter of the late Adam Ross II and Adeline Clum Ross. She had resided here all her life, her home being at 523 7th Ave. She was a member and past matron of Ionic Chapter, OES. Mrs. Barnum was a member of the Fifth Avenue Presbyterian Church and previously belonged to the former Ninth Presbyterian Church where she was a deaconess and home department secretary. She also was active in the Salvation Army. She is survived by her sister. She was the sister of the late Frederick L. Ross of Troy. The funeral will be held Friday at 2 p.m. Interment will take place in Oakwood Cemetery.
